This is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, retrieve an official booking record, or change a court file. Contact the agency that created or holds the record.

County Contacts for Records

Use the question, not the site name, to choose the office. The jail handles current custody and visitation questions. Sheriff Records handles arrest files and report copies. FOIA is the written path for identifiable records, including an associated booking photograph when releasable. The Circuit Clerk and Judici handle the later court case.

Where to Ask for Each Record

Give the office a full name, date or date range, location, arresting agency, case or incident number, and the exact record requested. A city arrest may be held by the city department, the county sheriff, another county, or a different facility. The county jail location does not by itself identify the arresting jurisdiction.

How to Write a Useful Request

A narrow request is easier for a records custodian to locate. State whether you want inspection or copies, ask for electronic delivery when available, and request a segregable release if only part of a record can be disclosed. If material is withheld, ask for the exemption citation and review instructions.

  1. Name the person, incident date, location, arresting agency, and case or report number.
  2. Identify the exact item, such as an arrest report, booking record, custody note, release record, or associated booking photograph.
  3. Use the correct city or county FOIA route rather than sending one request to every agency.
  4. Keep the response and any court disposition together so an old accusation is not mistaken for the final legal result.

For an immediate safety threat, call 911. For a warrant or wanted-person question, use the court or law-enforcement route, do not approach anyone, and consult counsel about a personal legal issue.
